An 8-inch torque stick flexes at 140 ft-lb to protect wheels and brake rotors from overtightening damage
The Steelman 50094A is a 1/2 inch drive torque extension calibrated to 140 ft-lb. It protects wheels, studs, and brake rotors from overtightening damage during impact wrench use. Automotive technicians and DIY mechanics use it to prevent sheared bolts and warped rotors.
Under repeated impact wrench cycles the extension flexes once the 140 ft-lb threshold is reached, absorbing excess energy rather than transmitting it to the fastener. The chromoly steel construction maintains this limiting behaviour across multiple wheel changes without permanent deformation. It continues to function as a reliable torque limiter during extended shop sessions.
The extension fits directly between a 1/2 inch impact wrench anvil and a standard socket, requiring no special adapters. Its aqua powder coat makes identification quick in a busy toolbox. The main limitation is the fixed 140 ft-lb rating; vehicles requiring higher or lower torque specs need a different extension. California Proposition 65 warnings apply to this product.

The Chromoly steel flexes to absorb excess impact rather than generating heat, so the extension stays cool and vibration remains low even with continuous use.
A 1/2 inch drive electric or pneumatic impact wrench is required; the extension mates directly to that square drive.
Yes, the 1/2 inch drive on the extension accepts any standard 1/2 inch drive socket you already own.
