SteelSeries 9H Fnatic Edition Headset

The SteelSeries 9H Fnatic Edition is a circumaural gaming headset equipped with proprietary 40mm neodymium drivers. It connects through a 3.5mm jack or the included USB Dolby 7.1 adapter for virtual surround sound. A retractable unidirectional microphone and memory-foam cushions complete the package for extended sessions.

Competitive gamers and multi-platform users

Players who want virtual 7.1 surround on PC, PlayStation and Xbox will benefit from the USB adapter and broad system compatibility. The closed, double-enclosure design isolates noise in tournament or LAN environments. Buyers who need wireless freedom or active noise cancellation should look at other models.

3.5mm and USB dual connector

This headset operates in stereo via the 3.5mm plug or engages Dolby Headphone 7.1 processing through the USB adapter. The connector choice decides whether virtual surround and advanced EQ features are available. Verify that your device provides a powered USB port for the adapter before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Does the 29 ohm impedance and 3.0 ft. to 5.0 ft. cord length mean the headset runs cool and quiet during all-day sessions?

The headset is passive with no active electronics that generate heat or noise; the 29 ohm impedance lets it run efficiently from any 3.5 mm or USB source, and the 3.0 ft. to 5.0 ft. cable adds no power draw.

What device ports must I already have to use the 3.5 mm and USB connectors?

You need a 3.5 mm headset jack or separate headphone and microphone sockets for analog mode, plus a free USB-A port for the Dolby 7.1 adapter on Windows, Mac OS X, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 or mobile devices.

Will the 40 mm neodymium drivers and Dolby 7.1 USB adapter work with my PS3 and Xbox 360?

Yes, the USB adapter provides virtual 7.1 surround on PS3 and Xbox 360, while the 3.5 mm cable gives stereo audio and mic support on those consoles and on mobile devices.
