Ultra-Lightweight Right-Handed Gaming Mouse

The SteelSeries Aerox 5 is a new USB gaming mouse built for right-handed players who value speed. Its holey shell reduces mass to 59 g while an IP54-rated AquaBarrier protects the internals from water splashes and dust. A TrueMove Air optical sensor co-developed with PixArt delivers up to 18000 DPI for precise tracking. Nine programmable buttons and a flick switch provide extensive control options for competitive play.

Plug-and-Play Setup with Software Customisation

The mouse connects via a standard USB port and works immediately on a PC without extra drivers. SteelSeries GG software unlocks button remapping, macro creation and 3-zone PrismSync RGB lighting across 16.8 million colours. The 100% PTFE glide skates ensure smooth movement out of the box. The honeycomb shell can collect dust over time, so occasional compressed-air cleaning keeps the sensor and switches performing consistently.

Competitive Players Seeking Minimal Weight

This model suits gamers who prioritise an ultra-light frame, high DPI headroom and extensive side-button layouts for MOBA or MMO titles. The right-handed ergonomics and flick switch favour claw or fingertip grips. Buyers who want a heavier mouse, wireless freedom, an ambidextrous shape or a simpler button count should look at something else.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the TrueMove Air sensor is tracking at 18000 DPI after setup?

Open SteelSeries Engine, select the Aerox 5, and set the DPI slider to 18000; the on-screen readout and mouse movement will reflect that sensitivity instantly.

What comes in the box with part number 62401 and what must I buy separately?

The box contains the Aerox 5 mouse, a USB cable, and documentation; no extra feet or dock are included, so purchase a mouse pad separately if you want one.

Should I choose the 59 g or 66 g version for the lightest weight?

The specifications list the weight as 59 g, making that the lightest available version of this model.
