TKL Lavender Gaming Keyboard

The SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL 64940 is a compact tenkeyless keyboard built for gaming. It uses whisper-quiet rubber dome tactile switches rated for 20 million keypresses. The lavender chassis features 8-zone RGB illumination with reactive effects. A USB 2.0 interface provides plug-and-play connectivity without extra software.

Esports Players Needing Desk Space

The TKL form factor removes the number pad to maximise mouse room for low-sensitivity aiming. Anti-ghosting keys keep simultaneous inputs accurate during fast action. Buyers who require a dedicated number pad for data entry or spreadsheet work should look at a full-size alternative. The membrane switches also differ from mechanical clicky or linear feel.

Compact Build Companion

The small footprint frees desk area for large mouse pads or a second peripheral. Water and dust resistance adds durability against accidental spills. No palm rest is included, so users wanting wrist support must add one separately. The standard layout fits most keycap sets if customisation is desired later.

Questions about this item

Does the keyboard plug into a USB 2.0 port?

Yes, the SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL 64940 connects via a standard USB 2.0 interface.

Will the tenkeyless layout and tactile rubber-dome switches feel different from a full-size mechanical board I might keep?

The TKL form factor removes the numpad for more mouse room, and the tactile membrane switches are whisper-quiet with a 20 million keypress rating.

How can I verify the 8-zone RGB illumination is active after I plug it in?

The backlighting lights up immediately on connection; use the SteelSeries Engine software to confirm all eight zones respond to colour and effect changes.
