Tenkeyless Lavender Gaming Keyboard

The SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL is a wired gaming keyboard with a compact tenkeyless layout finished in lavender. It uses whisper-quiet rubber-dome switches rated for 20 million keystrokes and connects via USB 2.0. The board offers 8-zone PrismSync RGB lighting with 16.8 million colour options and 24-key anti-ghosting for accurate input during play.

Gamers and Office Users Wanting Quiet Compact RGB

This keyboard suits users who need a quiet, spill-resistant board with vibrant lighting and a small footprint for mouse space. It is not for buyers who want mechanical switches, a dedicated number pad, a wrist rest, or wireless connectivity. The tactile membrane feel and fixed cable may not meet the needs of enthusiasts seeking hot-swappable switches or per-key RGB customisation.

20M Keystroke Switches and IP32 Spill Protection

The whisper-quiet switches are rated for 20 million keystrokes and provide smooth tactility with a 60 g actuation force. IP32 water and dust resistance protects against accidental splashes and airborne debris. The 8-zone RGB and dedicated media roller handle lighting effects and volume control, while three-way cable routing keeps the desk tidy. The tenkeyless design frees space for wide mouse sweeps in competitive titles.

Questions about this item

Does my PC need a free USB 2.0 port for this keyboard?

Yes, the keyboard connects through a single USB 2.0 cable and draws power from that port, so one free USB 2.0 or compatible USB 3.x socket is required.

Will the 24-key anti-ghosting still register my key combos if I keep using an older USB 2.0 hub?

The anti-ghosting logic lives inside the keyboard itself, so it works the same whether you plug directly into the motherboard or through a USB 2.0 hub.

How can I confirm the 8-zone PrismSync RGB is active after I plug it in?

The keyboard lights up immediately with a default rainbow wave across its 8 independent zones; you can then open SteelSeries GG software to customise colours and effects.
