Compact tenkeyless mechanical keyboard

The SteelSeries Apex 7 TKL model 64646 is a wired USB keyboard built around 87 QX2 linear red mechanical switches rated for 50 million keystrokes. It targets competitive gamers and typists who want a compact layout without a numeric pad.

Aluminum frame frees desk space

An aircraft-grade 5000 series aluminum top plate adds rigidity while the tenkeyless form factor leaves more room for mouse movement. A detachable magnetic soft-touch wrist rest, a USB passthrough port and a metal volume roller add daily convenience without extra cables.

16.8 million colour per-key RGB

Full N-key rollover guarantees 100 percent input accuracy for complex key combinations. The integrated OLED smart display shows game stats, Discord alerts and custom profiles so settings can be changed without leaving the application.

Questions about this item

How many keystrokes are the QX2 Red linear switches rated for before performance can change?

The QX2 Red linear switches are rated for 50 million keystrokes, giving consistent actuation over long-term heavy use.

Does the aluminium top plate add noticeable heat or fan noise during all-day sessions?

The 5000 series aluminium frame is passive; it adds no fan noise and does not generate heat, so the keyboard stays silent and cool during extended use.

Which port must the computer provide for the keyboard and its USB passthrough to function?

A single USB port is required; the keyboard draws power and provides the passthrough through that same connection.
