SteelSeries Apex Pro HyperMagnetic Gaming Keyboard OLED USB Passthrough

SKU CH-6HWF-D2C3D

Gaming keyboard with 40-level adjustable HyperMagnetic switches, Rapid Trigger, OLED display, and USB passthrough

  • Adjustable 0.1–4.0 mm actuation per key with 40 precise levels
  • Rapid Trigger removes fixed-point latency for faster response
  • 2-in-1 action keys assign two functions to one press depth
  • OLED smart display plus clickable metal roller shows game and app info
  • USB passthrough adds a convenient port for flash drives or dongles

Fully Customisable HyperMagnetic Switches

The SteelSeries Apex Pro is a gaming keyboard built around OmniPoint 2.0 Adjustable HyperMagnetic switches. It offers 40 levels of per-key actuation adjustable between 0.1 and 4.0 mm. Rapid Trigger dynamically activates and deactivates keys based on travel distance rather than a fixed point. This design targets competitive players who need precise control over registration distance and want to eliminate latency from physical switch movement.

USB Passthrough and OLED Integration

A built-in USB passthrough port lets you connect an additional USB-A device such as a wireless dongle or flash drive directly through the keyboard. An OLED smart display provides at-a-glance information from games and applications alongside a clickable metal roller and dedicated media key. The Series 5000 aircraft-grade aluminium alloy top plate adds structural rigidity. These features free up motherboard ports and keep system controls accessible without alt-tabbing.

Sustained Input Consistency

The magnetic switch mechanism maintains consistent actuation characteristics over extended sessions because there are no physical contacts to wear or oxidise. Rapid Trigger continues to reset keys the instant they pass the configured travel threshold, preventing input stacking during prolonged battles. The 20x faster actuation and 11x faster response compared to traditional mechanical keyboards remain stable under continuous load. Users who prefer fixed actuation points or require analogue joystick-style input may find the per-key tuning unnecessary.

Questions about this item

How low can the actuation point go on the OmniPoint 2.0 switches before bottom-out?

Each key can be set as shallow as 0.1 mm, adjustable in 40 steps up to 4.0 mm.

Does the aluminium top plate keep the keyboard cool and quiet during marathon sessions?

The Series 5000 alloy frame adds rigidity; the magnetic switches have no click mechanism, so noise and heat stay low.

What must already be on the PC for the USB passthrough and OLED smart display to function?

A free USB-A port for the passthrough and SteelSeries GG software for per-key actuation profiles and OLED widgets.
