Compact 60% Esports Keyboard

The SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini Gen 3 is a wired 61-key keyboard built for competitive FPS players who need maximum desk space for mouse movement. Its 60% layout removes the function row, navigation cluster and numpad while retaining full functionality through an FN layer. The compact form factor suits tournament setups and portable use where every centimetre counts.

USB 2.0 Wired Connection Limits

The keyboard connects through a detachable braided USB-C to USB-A cable using the USB 2.0 interface. This wired link guarantees consistent polling without wireless latency or battery management, but it ties the device to a physical port and cable length. The connection does not support the higher bandwidth or power delivery features found in newer USB standards.

Aluminium Frame and Double-Shot PBT Keycaps

A one-piece aircraft-grade aluminium top plate provides a rigid foundation that resists flex during intense keystrokes. Double-shot PBT keycaps resist shine and wear far longer than ABS alternatives, while factory-lubed switches and internal sound-dampening foam reduce ping and hollow acoustics. Three-way cable routing lets the wire exit left, right or centre to match desk layout, and three-level adjustable tilt feet allow a preferred typing angle.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 60% 61-key layout or the 65% layout listed in the specs?

The keyboard itself is a 60% form factor with 61 keys; the 65% entry in the specifications appears to be a typo, so you are getting the more compact 61-key version.

What does the 0.7ms response time mean when I am actually gaming?

It measures how quickly a keystroke registers after the switch is triggered, so the 0.7ms figure reflects near-instant input recognition in fast-paced titles.

What does the USB 2.0 interface cap in practice?

USB 2.0 provides more than enough bandwidth for keyboard data, so the connection will not limit polling rate or lighting performance.
