What It Is

The STEM Bug Zapper uses a 360-degree UV light to attract and zap flying insects on contact. It runs on a rechargeable battery for up to 12 hours and includes a Micro-USB cable for charging. The plastic unit contains no chemical insecticides, making it suitable for use around people and pets when following directions.

Thermals Noise Power

The device operates silently with no moving parts, producing only a faint snap when an insect hits the internal grid. Heat output is negligible during its 12-hour battery cycle. Power comes entirely from the built-in rechargeable cell, so there are no cords or outlets required while it is running.

Deciding Spec

The single charge runtime of 12 hours determines whether this zapper covers your evening outdoors. If you need continuous protection from dusk to dawn without recharging, this unit will not last the full night. Buyers who need longer uninterrupted operation should look for a mains-powered alternative.

Questions about this item

How do I charge the zapper before first use, and what step is often missed?

Connect the included micro-USB cable to a USB power source until the battery is full; the step users skip is waiting for a complete charge instead of running it after a partial top-up.

What part will need cleaning or replacement over time?

The electric grid collects insect debris and must be brushed clean with the supplied brush; the UV light and battery are not user-replaceable.

What limit appears first during continuous overnight use?

The rechargeable battery provides up to 12 hours of run time on a full charge, so the runtime limit is reached before any other constraint.
