Clear Stackable Storage Tote

The Sterilite 14978006 is a 64 Qt polypropylene tote measuring 23.75 In. long, 16 In. wide and 13.5 In. high. Its clear white body lets you identify contents at a glance while the hinged lid opens with one hand. Recessed lids allow multiple totes to stack securely for vertical organisation in garages, closets or utility rooms.

Replaces Cardboard Boxes And Open Bins

The hinged latch system eliminates loose lids that get lost or cracked, so the upgrade pays off when you need frequent, one-handed access to seasonal gear or tools. If you only store items once a year and never restack, a simple box may still be adequate.

Limited By Polypropylene Strength And Lid Seal

The tote relies on its plastic walls and recessed lid for stacking stability, so excessive weight on lower units can cause bowing over time. The snap latches resist casual bumps but are not watertight, making the box unsuitable for liquids or damp environments.

Questions about this item

Will the 23.75 in length and 16 in width fit on my standard closet shelf?

The tote measures 23.75 in long by 16 in wide, so compare those dimensions to your shelf depth and width before purchasing.

How do I open the hinged lid correctly without stressing the latch?

Release one latch, lift the lid, and let the second latch act as a hinge; forcing both latches open at once can bend the hinge mechanism.

When should I replace the tote if the polypropylene cracks?

Replace the box if cracks appear in the walls or base, as they compromise the 64 Qt capacity and stacking strength.
