Portable Bug Zapper

The Sterling OB572 is a plug-in insect trap designed for adults who want to reduce mosquitoes, gnats and flies around porches, balconies, motor homes and backyards. Its black metal-and-plastic housing measures 8.25 inches high by 4 inches wide and includes a detachable bottom catch for discarding dead insects. The unit ships in an individual box ready for immediate use.

Standard Wall Outlet Required

The zapper operates from a standard plug-in connection with a 55 inch cord, so placement is limited by the distance to a mains socket. It cannot function away from grid power and there is no battery or solar option described in the specifications. Users must ensure a suitable outlet is available at the intended indoor or outdoor location.

Simple Placement and Cleaning

Installation consists of plugging the unit into a wall outlet and positioning it where flying insects gather. The detachable catch tray slides out for emptying, though the short cord may restrict optimal positioning in larger outdoor areas. No tools or assembly are required beyond choosing a socket within reach of the 55 inch lead.

Questions about this item

How do I choose the right version of the Sterling OB572 water sports skate?

The Sterling OB572 is offered as a single model in black with dimensions of 8.25 inches high by 4 inches wide, so there are no alternative versions or capacities to select from.

What does the 8.25 inch height mean when the skate is set up for use?

The 8.25 inch height is the overall vertical dimension of the unit, which helps determine whether it will fit on a porch railing, balcony ledge, or motor-home awning without obstruction.

What plug standard does the OB572 use and what limits does it impose?

It operates from a standard wall outlet via a 55 inch cord, so placement is restricted to locations within that reach of a mains socket.
