Fanless server chassis

The Streacom FC8 Alpha is a passively cooled aluminium chassis designed for silent server deployments. It suits home labs, media servers and edge appliances that must run without fan noise. The redesigned heatsink and stealth side vent improve convection airflow while reducing internal dust buildup.

Passive cooling limits

Heat dissipation depends entirely on the case exterior acting as a heatsink, so sustained loads are constrained by ambient temperature and available convection. The re-tooled heatsink and uprated heatpipes raise the thermal ceiling, yet high-TDP components will still throttle without active airflow.

Drive capacity and headroom

The versatile tray now accepts two 3.5-inch drives alongside an optical drive and a 2.5-inch unit, or up to five 2.5-inch drives in the non-optical configuration. Variable mounting lets you optimise drive placement, but the chassis cannot accommodate more than two 3.5-inch devices.
