Retro e-ink dial for system metrics
The Streacom VU1 is a single analogue dial with a retro e-ink display and LED backlight. It shows real-time system information such as temperatures, loads or clock speeds. The extruded aluminium body has a sandblasted, anodised black finish. It suits enthusiasts who want a physical, at-a-glance readout without opening software overlays.
USB-powered desk accessory for any build
The dial connects via USB and draws power from the same port, so it needs no external supply or internal drive bay. It sits on the desk outside the chassis, leaving motherboard headers and expansion slots completely free. Configuration is handled in software, letting you reassign the displayed metric without rewiring or opening the case.
One metric at a time with paper-like clarity
The e-ink face renders high-contrast, non-emissive graduations that remain readable in bright light and consume negligible power when static. It comfortably handles a single rotating metric — CPU temperature, GPU load, fan speed or similar — but cannot display multiple values simultaneously. Builders who need concurrent multi-parameter monitoring will find the single dial limiting.

Questions about this item
What system metrics can the e-ink dial display?
The e-ink face changes graduations and units on the fly, so it can represent CPU load, temperatures, fan speeds, memory usage, network throughput or any other metric the software sends.
How much heat or noise does the dial add to a running PC?
The aluminium body is passively cooled and the e-ink display draws negligible power, so it adds no audible noise and no measurable heat to the system.
What software or hardware is required to drive the VU1 dial?
It connects via USB and requires the Streacom VU1 desktop application running on Windows to configure and send data to the display.
