Channel saddle washer for hanger rods

The Super-Strut AB 242 saddle washer is a steel channel component finished in gold galvanised coating. It accepts both 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch hanger rods, making it suitable for electrical or mechanical contractors securing conduit runs. Each pack contains 50 pieces for project-scale installations.

Verify rod diameter and channel profile

Before ordering, confirm that your threaded rods match the 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch thread sizes listed for this washer. Ensure the mounting channel width and depth align with the washer's 1 5/8 inch width and 3/8 inch depth so the saddle seats correctly. The galvanised steel finish is intended for standard indoor or protected outdoor environments.

Galvanised steel resists corrosion over time

Under sustained load the galvanised coating protects the steel from rust, maintaining clamping force on the hanger rods. The 1/4 inch thickness distributes weight across the channel without permanent deformation. Packaged in quantities of 50, the washers support long-term installations where repeated vibration or thermal cycling could loosen lesser hardware.

Questions about this item

Does the pack of 50 Super-Strut AB 242 saddle washers include the 3/8 in and 1/2 in hanger rods, or must I buy those separately?

The washers are designed for use with 3/8 in and 1/2 in hanger rods, which are not included in the package of 50 and must be purchased separately.

The title lists both 3/8 in and 1/2 in thread sizes for the same AB 242 model — how do I know which version I am ordering?

The AB 242 saddle washer accommodates both 3/8 in and 1/2 in hanger rods in a single design, so one product covers both thread sizes without separate versions.

What does the 1 15/16 ft length mean when the washer is mounted on a channel with a 1/2 in rod?

The 1 15/16 ft length is the overall channel saddle dimension; when installed on a 1/2 in rod it spans that distance across the mounting surface.
