Plug Specification

The Superior Electric YGA026 is a NEMA L5-15P locking plug rated for 15 A at 125 V AC. It is built for electricians and maintenance crews who need to replace worn connectors on power tools or extension cords used in industrial and commercial settings.

Wiring Method

The device uses galvanised steel internal posts with screws and black wire terminal clamps for secure termination. This spring-clamp design allows the replacement to be completed in a couple of minutes without specialised crimping tools.

Locking Interface

The twist-lock mechanism resists accidental disconnection caused by vibration or sudden movement. It is not suitable for standard straight-blade receptacles or for circuits requiring a higher amperage rating than the 15 A specified.

Questions about this item

Will the galvanised steel internal posts and screws need periodic retightening?

The spring-clamp terminals hold wires without screws, so no screw retightening is required after the initial installation.

At 15 A continuous load, does the NEMA L5-15P body reach its temperature limit first?

The plug is rated for 15 A at 125 V AC; sustained operation at that rating stays within its design limits.

Does the twist-lock housing get hot or make noise when powering equipment all day?

The device is a passive connector with no moving parts or electronics, so it runs silently and remains at ambient temperature under normal load.
