Locking Receptacle for Industrial Power

The Superior Electric YGP028F is a NEMA L15-30R twist-lock receptacle rated for 30 A at 250 V AC. It provides a four-wire surface-mount connection designed for gasoline generators, mechanical machinery and electrical equipment in commercial and industrial settings. The locking mechanism secures the plug against disconnection caused by sudden movement or incidental impact.

Suited for Fixed Generator and Machinery Hook-Ups

This receptacle suits installers who need a permanent, surface-mounted inlet for 30 A 250 V loads where vibration or cable tugging is expected. It is not for buyers who require a portable cordset, an inline connector or a lower-amperage device for standard household outlets. The fixed mounting style also makes it unsuitable for temporary or frequently relocated power drops.

NEMA L15-30R Configuration Decides Compatibility

The NEMA L15-30R pinout determines whether this receptacle matches the plug on your generator or machine. Verify that the equipment specifies a four-wire, 30 A, 250 V locking plug before purchase. Using a different NEMA configuration will prevent a secure connection and create a safety hazard.

Questions about this item

Does the YGP028F come with mounting screws or a cover plate, or do I need to buy them separately?

The receptacle is sold as a single unit; mounting hardware and cover plates are not included and must be sourced separately.

Should I choose the L15-30R version or a different NEMA configuration for my generator?

Select L15-30R when your generator or equipment requires a 4-wire, 30 A, 250 V locking connection; other NEMA codes have different blade patterns and voltage ratings.

What does the 30 A / 250 V rating mean once the receptacle is installed in my circuit?

It indicates the device is rated to carry up to 30 amps continuously at 250 volts AC when wired with correctly sized conductors and protected by a matching 30 A breaker.
