A 4U rackmount barebone supporting dual EPYC processors, 32 DDR4 slots, 24 SATA bays and up to 8 double-width GPUs
This Supermicro barebones system fits dual AMD EPYC 7002 or 7003 series processors in SP3 sockets with up to 280W TDP each. Thirty-two DDR4 3200 ECC slots support up to 8TB of memory. The chassis provides 24 hot-swap SATA 600 bays and eight double-width PCIe 3.0 or 4.0 x16 slots for full-height full-length GPUs such as NVIDIA A100, V100, A40, T4, Quadro RTX or AMD Instinct cards.
Organisations running AI training, deep learning, high-performance computing, cloud gaming or molecular dynamics simulations can install up to eight GPUs with direct CPU-to-GPU PCIe connectivity. The platform requires two EPYC processors; single-socket operation is not supported. Buyers needing NVMe storage should note that populating NVMe devices reduces the available PCIe 4.0 x16 slots from ten to nine.
The defining specification is the eight full-height full-length PCIe 3.0 or 4.0 x16 slots that accept double-width accelerators. This density determines whether the chassis matches the GPU count required for the target workload. No CPU, memory or storage is included, so the buyer must supply compatible EPYC processors, DDR4 3200 ECC modules and SATA drives.

Power on the 4U server and watch the POST screen for dual Socket SP3 recognition, 32 DDR4 3200 slots populated, and 24 SATA 600 bays detected before loading your OS.
The chassis, motherboard, and cooling for up to 8 double-width GPUs are included; you must add two EPYC 7002 or 7003 CPUs, DDR4 ECC modules up to 8 TB, and 2.5-inch SATA drives for the 24 hot-swap bays.
Use the 9-slot layout when NVMe devices are present; switch to the 10-slot layout only if no NVMe drives are installed, ensuring all 8 GPUs run at x16.
