This Supermicro SSG-6049P-E1CR36H is a 4U barebone mini PC built around a Xeon 3647 processor and 2TB of DDR4 memory. It includes 36 hot-swap bays for 3.5-inch drives and PCIe expansion slots. The system is aimed at organisations that need dense storage and compute in a rack-mountable chassis.

Check CPU cooler clearance and power needs

Verify that your rack can accommodate a 4U form factor and that the power distribution units supply the connectors required by this platform. Confirm the Xeon 3647 socket compatibility with any cooler you intend to install and ensure the drive backplane matches your 3.5-inch storage devices. Buyers who need a smaller chassis or fewer drive bays should consider other form factors.

Questions about this item

Does the SSG-6049P-E1CR36H barebone include the Xeon 3647 processor and 2TB DDR4 memory, or must they be purchased separately?

The barebone chassis, motherboard and 36 hot-swap 3.5-inch drive bays are included; the Xeon 3647 CPU and 2TB DDR4 modules are not supplied and must be sourced separately.

How do I decide between the 36-bay 3.5-inch configuration and other capacity options for this 4U system?

Choose the 36-bay 3.5-inch version when you need maximum 3.5-inch drive density in a 4U rack; select a different bay-count model if your storage plan uses fewer large drives or requires 2.5-inch bays.
