5U barebone for AI/HPC with dual Xeon sockets, 32 DDR5 slots, 13 PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, 10 GPU capacity and 2.5" hot-swap bays
The Supermicro SYS-521GE-TNRT is a 5U rackmount barebone designed for AI, machine-learning and high-performance computing clusters. It ships without processors, memory or storage, allowing integrators to configure up to two Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs and populate 32 DDR5 4800 ECC DIMM slots for up to 8 TB of memory.
Eight hot-swap heavy-duty fans with optimal speed control move air across dual 350 W TDP CPUs and up to ten double-width GPUs without throttling during extended training runs. Four 2700 W titanium redundant power supplies in a 2+2 arrangement maintain stable delivery when every PCIe 5.0 x16 slot is saturated.
The chassis provides 13 full-height PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, dual M.2 NVMe sockets and front-access 2.5-inch hot-swap bays for SATA, SAS or NVMe drives. Installers must source a CPU cooler rated for 350 W, cable the dual-root PCIe switch for GPU direct interconnects and add an optional NVLink bridge for multi-GPU scaling.

Eight hot-swap fans with optimal speed control adjust airflow to the thermal load, keeping dual 350W CPUs and up to ten GPUs within limits during sustained AI/ML/HPC workloads.
You must add up to two LGA 4677 Xeon Scalable processors, DDR5 4800 ECC RDIMMs for the 32 DIMM slots, and NVIDIA PCIe A100, L40S or H100 GPUs for the 13 PCIe 5.0 x16 slots.
Yes, the 12 plus 1 PCIe 5.0 x16 full-height full-length slots are backward compatible with PCIe 4.0 and 3.0 cards, so older NVMe, SAS or NIC add-in cards will function at their rated speeds.
