A 2U rack server with dual 24-core Xeon Platinum 8160 processors, 768GB DDR4 memory, 12 hot-swap 3.5-inch drive bays, MegaRAID 9361-8i controller, four 10GBase-T ports and dual 1000W power supplies
This new Supermicro SYS-6029U-E1CR4T is a 2U rackmount system built around two Intel Xeon Platinum 8160 processors running at 2.1 GHz with 24 cores each. It ships with 768 GB of DDR4-2666 ECC registered memory across 24 DIMM slots. The platform targets virtualization, hyper-converged storage and cloud workloads that demand high core counts and large memory capacity.
Storage connectivity runs through an LSI MegaRAID 9361-8i controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across twelve SATA or SAS bays. Four of the bays can be reconfigured for NVMe with an additional add-on card. The chassis includes dual 1000 W titanium-efficiency redundant power supplies and four 10GBase-T ports via an Intel X710 controller.
The installed 24×32 GB modules fill every slot, leaving no empty sockets for simple expansion. Maximum supported capacity reaches 6 TB using 3DS LRDIMMs or Intel Optane DC persistent memory, but achieving that requires replacing all existing modules. Workloads fitting within 768 GB run comfortably; larger datasets will need a full memory swap.

The system ships with 24 registered ECC modules running at 2666 MT/s, giving 768 GB total capacity for large virtualisation or in-memory database tasks.
The 8-port 12 Gb/s SAS controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with 1 GB cache and battery backup, limiting arrays to eight connected drives.
The chassis fits a standard EIA rack opening and uses 2U of vertical space; front bezel and rack-mount rails are not included.
