A 2U rack server with dual 12-core Xeon Gold 5118 CPUs, 64GB DDR4, twelve 3.5-inch hot-swap bays, a MegaRAID 9361-8i controller and four 10GBase-T ports
The Supermicro SYS-6029U-E1CR4T is a 2U rackmount server fitted with two Intel Xeon Gold 5118 processors at 2.3 GHz. Each CPU provides 12 cores for a total of 24 threads. The system ships with 64 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across four 16 GB modules. It targets virtualization hosts, hyper-converged storage clusters and cloud compute nodes that need dense 3.5-inch drive capacity in a compact rack footprint.
Twelve hot-swap 3.5-inch trays slide into the front without screws, and the MegaRAID 9361-8i controller handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Expansion slots are full-height and full-length; verify card bracket clearance before ordering. The dedicated IPMI 2.0 port enables remote KVM and virtual media, but the front bezel and rack rails are not included, so budget for those separately.
Two redundant 1000 W Titanium-rated power supplies share the load, keeping efficiency high when both CPUs sustain turbo frequencies up to 3.2 GHz. The 12 Gb/s SAS backplane feeds the RAID controller without bottlenecks during sustained write-heavy workloads. Four 10GBase-T ports from the Intel X710 controller maintain line-rate throughput for storage replication or VM migration. Builders needing NVMe acceleration or more than 24 DIMM slots should plan for additional add-in cards.

Enter the BIOS or IPMI 2.0 interface via the dedicated RJ45 management port; both should show 2 processors, 24 cores total at 2.3GHz base clock and 64GB registered ECC memory across 24 DIMM slots.
The server includes 2x Xeon Gold 5118 CPUs, 4x 16GB DDR4-2400 modules, MegaRAID 9361-8i controller with battery, 12x 3.5" hot-swap trays, 4x 10GBase-T ports on the X710 add-in card, IPMI 2.0 port and 2x 1000W Titanium PSUs; drives, front bezel and rack rails are not included.
The installed MegaRAID 9361-8i provides 8 internal SAS/SATA ports supporting RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60; the remaining 4 bays require an additional SAS expander or HBA to become active.
