A 2U rackmount barebone supporting dual Xeon CPUs, 18 DDR4 slots up to 4 TB ECC memory, six PCIe 4.0 slots and eight 3.5-inch hot-swap bays
The Supermicro SYS-620P-TR is a 2U rackmount server barebone designed for general-purpose workloads. It supports up to two Intel Xeon processors in LGA 4189 sockets and provides eighteen DDR4 3200MHz ECC memory slots for a maximum capacity of 4TB. The chassis includes eight 3.5-inch hot-swap drive bays and an ASPEED AST2600 BMC for out-of-band management.
This platform suits teams building virtualisation hosts, enterprise application servers or compute-intensive nodes that need dual-socket density in a 2U form factor. Organisations requiring single-socket economy, higher single-thread clocks or integrated high-speed networking beyond one gigabit should evaluate alternative chassis designs.
The single specification that decides fit is the fixed PCIe 4.0 lane layout: one x8 low-profile slot, four x16 low-profile slots, one additional x8 low-profile slot and one M.2 NVMe connector. All add-in cards must conform to low-profile height and the available lane widths.

The barebone supports up to two Intel Xeon CPUs in LGA 4189 sockets; install one or two depending on the core count and memory capacity your workloads require.
Eighteen DDR4 3200 MHz ECC slots accept RDIMM or LRDIMM modules, so total capacity scales with the number and density of DIMMs you populate across both processors.
Four low-profile PCI-E 4.0 x16 slots and two x8 slots provide up to six add-in cards, while a single M.2 NVMe slot handles local flash storage.
