Basic Four-MAI ZC042 Ribbon Pack

This six-pack of black dot-matrix ribbons replaces the Basic Four-MAI ZC042 cartridge. It is built for businesses that run legacy printers for receipts, invoices and continuous-form documents. The compatible formulation matches OEM dimensions so the ribbon feeds correctly in every listed machine.

Sustained High-Volume Printing

Excellent ink retention keeps character density even across long print runs without fading or smudging. The ribbon tension remains stable during continuous batch jobs, reducing the chance of snags or uneven wear. ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified facilities control the manufacturing consistency that supports this reliability.

Drop-In Installation Across Many Models

The cartridge fits the Basic Four-MAI 4218 and a wide range of legacy dot-matrix printers including the Admate DP-160, Cal Abco 100 and Fortis DM-2015 series. No tools or firmware updates are required; the ribbon seats in the same guide slots as the original. Buyers whose printer is not on the compatibility list will need a different ribbon.

Questions about this item

Does the ribbon generate noticeable noise or heat during continuous high-volume printing?

The ribbon itself is a passive consumable; all noise and heat come from the dot-matrix printhead and printer mechanism, not from the ribbon cartridge.

What printer model must I already own for these ZC042 ribbons to work?

They fit any printer listed in the compatibility list — for example the Basic Four-MAI 4218, Admate DP-160, Anzac 1132, Cal Abco 100, Digital Associates Remote, Evolution MX-100, Fortis DM-2015, Four Phase PC-6310, Godrej 918, Lee Data 1314, North Star 100, Pixel 100AP, Printec 9315, Quen Data ECR-4810 or Tredia DX-180.

Will the ribbon perform reliably in an older dot-matrix machine I plan to keep using?

Yes — the ribbon is built to OEM specifications with premium materials and excellent ink retention, so it delivers sharp, consistent output on legacy printers such as the Basic Four-MAI 4218 and the other compatible models listed.
