Compatible POS printer ribbons

SuppliesMAX Citizen IR-31RB ribbons replace Citizen IR-31RB, 61060, 011020RB and 011030RB cartridges. The six-pack suits retailers, hospitality venues and any business printing receipts or invoices on Citizen CD-S500, CD-S501 or CD-S503 point-of-sale printers. Black and red ink on each ribbon highlights totals, voids or kitchen modifiers without changing consumables.

Thermal performance and power

Ribbon operation adds no measurable heat or noise to the printer mechanism. Power draw remains identical to OEM cartridges because the ribbon advances mechanically with each print cycle. Excellent ink retention reduces the frequency of ribbon changes during high-volume shifts, keeping the device running cooler and quieter over long periods.

Build quality and daily use

Manufactured in ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified facilities using new and recycled components to match OEM specifications. Each cartridge drops into the printer’s existing ribbon holder with no tools or adapter required. Designed for 110V machines sold in the U.S.; use does not affect the printer manufacturer’s warranty. Not suited for printers outside the listed Citizen CD-S500 series or for single-colour black-only applications.

Questions about this item

How do I install the IR-31RB ribbon in a Citizen CD-S500, and what step is often missed?

Open the printer cover, remove the spent cartridge, insert the new ribbon cassette until it clicks, then close the cover and run a test print; the step often missed is forgetting to advance the ribbon manually before the first print.

What maintenance or replacement will the IR-31RB ribbon need later?

The ribbon is a consumable; when print fades or red characters drop out, replace the whole cassette — no separate ink tank or roller service is required.

What limit appears first during sustained high-volume printing with the IR-31RB?

Ink depletion on the black/red ribbon shows up first; the cassette yields no rated page count, so monitor print density and swap the ribbon when output lightens.
