Compatible Purple Ribbon 6-Pack

This SuppliesMax ribbon pack replaces the Unisys 04-1085-846 cartridge. It fits Unisys AP-1317 and AP-1318 point-of-sale printers alongside a wide range of legacy models from Burroughs, Capitol Circuits and Datatrol. The purple ink formulation is built for receipt and invoice output in retail or hospitality environments. Each pack contains six new ribbons ready for immediate installation.

Upgrade From Worn Single Ribbons

Swapping a depleted single cartridge for this six-pack cuts downtime during high-volume shifts. The jump is worth it when a location prints daily batches of receipts or kitchen tickets and needs a spare supply on hand. Purple ink density matches the original specification so legibility stays consistent across the full ribbon life. No printer modification is required to move from the OEM part to this compatible version.

Drop-In Fit For Legacy P.O.S. Fleet

The ribbon cartridge slides into the existing printer mechanism without adapter plates or firmware changes. It serves mixed fleets that include Allen RC-711, Anchor 820 and B&E RE-7100 models using the same form factor. Stocking one part number simplifies inventory for technicians who maintain several of the listed machines. The pack frees up shelf space that would otherwise hold multiple single-box SKUs.

Questions about this item

Does the ribbon cartridge fit the Unisys AP-1317 printer model?

Yes, the cartridge is built to match the Unisys 04-1085-846 specification and fits the AP-1317 and AP-1318 series printers listed in the compatibility table.

How do I install the ribbon, and what step causes most errors?

Open the printer cover, remove the spent cartridge, insert the new ribbon so the purple ink side faces the print head, then close the cover; the common error is inserting the cartridge upside-down, which prevents the ribbon from advancing.

How often will I need to replace each ribbon in high-volume use?

The manufacturer notes excellent ink retention that minimises replacement frequency, but exact yield varies with print density and volume; each pack contains six ribbons for extended operation.
