Six-pack compatible ribbon for DEC dot matrix

This pack contains six black ink ribbons built to match the original DEC LA40R-KA specification. They fit DEC LA-400, LA-400 Plus and LA-450 printers as well as the Facit E80. The ribbons are manufactured in ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified facilities using new and recycled components. Each cartridge is designed for 110V machines sold in the U.S.

Consistent output during high-volume print runs

Premium materials and strong ink retention keep characters sharp across long batches of receipts and invoices. The ribbon feeds evenly through the print mechanism so density stays uniform from the first page to the last. Replacement intervals stay predictable even when the printer runs continuously through a business day. Performance meets or exceeds the original equipment standard.

Limited to the listed DEC and Facit models

The cartridge geometry matches only the LA-400 series, LA-450 and Facit E80 machines referenced in the compatibility table. It will not install in other dot matrix printers or in later DEC models not named above. Buyers needing ribbons for different part numbers or for wide-carriage units must source a separate product. No adapters or modifications are included.

Questions about this item

Does the ribbon generate extra heat or noise during continuous high-volume printing?

The ribbon is a passive ink cartridge; it adds no heat or noise beyond the printer's normal dot-matrix operation.

Must I already own a specific DEC or Facit dot-matrix printer for these ribbons to fit?

Yes — they are built for DEC LA-400, LA-400 Plus, LA-450 and Facit E80 models.

Will the LA40R-KA ribbon work reliably in an older DEC LA-400 Plus that I plan to keep using?

It is manufactured to OEM specifications for that exact model, so print quality and ribbon life match the original part.
