What this ribbon replaces

SuppliesMAX NCR 123518 is a black dot-matrix printer ribbon supplied in a six-pack. It serves as a direct compatible replacement for the NCR 123518 and NCR 125626 OEM part numbers. The ribbon fits NCR 2872 series machines and a long list of legacy dot-matrix models from NSA, Pertec, Philips, Plessey and Prime. Businesses that run high-volume receipt or invoice printing on these printers can stock the pack and keep operations running.

Practical limits of the dot-matrix interface

Dot-matrix impact printing relies on a fabric ribbon striking paper through a print head, so output resolution and speed are fixed by the printer mechanism, not the ribbon. The ribbon is manufactured for 110V machines sold in the U.S. and carries ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 facility certifications. Using a compatible ribbon does not void the printer manufacturer warranty under U.S. law. Buyers who need colour output, thermal printing or modern page-description languages cannot use this product.

Build quality and daily handling

The ribbon cartridge uses new and recycled components built to OEM dimensional standards, so it drops into the printer without modification. Excellent ink retention reduces the frequency of changes during continuous printing runs. Each cartridge is individually sealed in the six-pack, protecting the fabric from drying out during storage. Users who require a different ribbon width, a colour other than black, or a cartridge design for a non-listed model will need a different supply.
