USB-Powered 2.0 Soundbar for Laptops

The SYBA CL-SPK20138 is a compact stereo soundbar designed for mobile users who want louder audio than built-in laptop speakers provide. It draws all power from a USB port and connects audio through a 3.5mm jack, so no wall outlet or software driver is required.

5 W Total Output with 100 Hz to 20000 Hz Range

Dual 2.5 W drivers deliver 5 watts of combined RMS power and a frequency response of 100 Hz to 20000 Hz with a 90 dB signal-to-noise ratio. The 150 Hz low-end roll-off means bass-heavy music or explosive game effects will sound thin compared to larger desktop speakers or a subwoofer.

Clip-On Design Splits for Flexible Placement

The bar separates into two satellite speakers that can clip to a laptop screen or sit on a desk, connected by a 48-inch USB cable. It works with any device offering a 3.5mm output and a 5 V USB port, including PCs, smartphones, tablets and projectors. Buyers needing wireless streaming, a headphone jack on the speaker or deeper bass will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

Will the USB-powered 2.0 soundbar work with an older laptop that only has USB 2.0 ports and a single 3.5mm audio jack?

Yes, it draws 5V power from any standard USB port and uses the 3.5mm plug for audio, so it works with older laptops that provide those two connections.

How can I verify the CL-SPK20138 is delivering its rated 2.5W per channel after I plug it in?

Play audio at a moderate volume; clear stereo output with no distortion up to the 20000 Hz upper limit and a 90 dB signal-to-noise ratio indicates the 2 x 2.5W amplifiers are operating correctly.

Does the box include the 48-inch USB cable and 3.5mm audio cable, or must I buy either separately?

Both cables are integrated into the unit — the 48-inch USB lead for power and the 3.5mm plug for audio — so nothing extra is required for basic operation.
