Adds five SATA 6.0Gb/s ports through an M.2 B+M key slot using PCIe 3.0 x2 bandwidth up to 1700 MB/s
This adapter connects five SATA 6.0 Gb/s drives through a single PCIe 3.0 x2 M.2 slot. It is aimed at builders who need extra internal storage connections without occupying a full-length expansion slot. The card operates as a non-RAID controller and cannot be used to boot an operating system.
The board has no fan or active cooling components, so it adds zero acoustic output to the system. Power draw is limited to the PCIe 3.0 x2 interface and the attached SATA devices. Plug-and-play operation means no driver installation is required for basic functionality.
Under continuous load the two-lane PCIe 3.0 link caps aggregate bandwidth at 1700 MB/s across all five ports. Port multiplier support is available for non-RAID configurations, but the adapter is designed for storage use only and will not serve as a boot device.

Insert the card into a compatible M.2 B+M Key slot at PCIe 3.0 x2, secure it with the motherboard standoff screw, then connect up to five SATA drives using the supplied cables; the step often missed is enabling the M.2 slot in BIOS for PCIe storage rather than leaving it in default or disabled mode.
The adapter itself has no moving parts and requires no scheduled maintenance; only the attached SATA drives or cables may need replacement if they fail or degrade.
The PCIe 3.0 x2 host link caps aggregate bandwidth at 1700 MB/s, so combined drive traffic cannot exceed that ceiling regardless of individual SATA 6.0Gb/s port speed.
