4-bay SATA and M.2 NVMe enclosure

The Syba SI-TDB50132 combines four SATA 6Gbps drive bays with a single M.2 NVMe slot in one external housing. It accepts 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA drives up to 30TB each alongside M.2 cards in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 sizes up to 8TB. Two USB 4.0 Type-C ports at 40Gbps handle video, data, charging and daisy-chaining.

Suits multi-drive archives, not RAID servers

This enclosure serves users who want simultaneous access to several SATA drives and one NVMe stick over a single high-speed link. The NVMe bay receives dedicated 40Gbps bandwidth while the four SATA bays share a 10Gbps pool. Builders who need hardware RAID, NAS operating-system features or more than one NVMe drive should look at something else.

NVMe slot uses PCIe 3.0 x4

The M.2 bay runs on a PCIe 3.0 x4 connection and supports both AHCI and NVMe protocols. That lane width and protocol support decide whether a specific M.2 drive will operate at its rated speed.

Questions about this item

Does the enclosure fit both 2.5 and 3.5 inch SATA drives plus an M.2 NVMe drive?

Yes, it has four bays for 2.5 or 3.5 inch SATA drives up to 30TB each and one M.2 bay for 2230, 2242, 2260 or 2280 NVMe drives up to 8TB.

How do I connect the enclosure to my computer and what step is often missed?

Use either USB 4.0 Type-C 40Gbps port for the host link; the second port is for daisy-chaining. The NVMe bay gets dedicated 40Gbps bandwidth while the four SATA bays share 10Gbps.

Will the built-in fan need cleaning or replacement later?

The intelligent temperature-controlled fan runs at 20dB in silent mode; clean dust from the vents periodically to maintain airflow and cooling performance.
