Sylvania 135W Traffic Signal Bulb

This Sylvania 12843 is a 135-watt incandescent lamp built for traffic signal installations. It operates on 120 to 125 volt circuits and uses a standard E26 medium screw base. The clear A21 envelope produces a 2850K colour temperature suited to regulated signalling applications.

Practical limits of incandescent signalling

Incandescent filaments draw high current and convert most energy into heat rather than light. The 135W rating demands wiring and fixtures rated for the corresponding amperage at 125V. Frequent cycling or vibration in signal heads shortens filament life compared with steady burning. Voltage above 125V will reduce service life further.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 135W version or a lower-wattage traffic signal bulb?

The 135W rating matches the 12843 model specification. Select this version when your traffic signal fixture requires exactly 135 watts at 120/125V.

What does the 2850K colour temperature look like in an actual traffic signal installation?

At 2850K the clear A21 bulb produces a warm white light that meets standard traffic signal chromaticity requirements for 120/125V operation.
