The Synology RS3626xs is a 2U rackmount network-attached storage system built around a Xeon D-1726 processor and 48GB of DDR4 memory. It ships fully assembled with twelve 4TB enterprise drives providing 48TB of raw capacity plus a 1.6TB read-write cache. The platform targets organisations that need centralised file storage, virtualization hosting, or surveillance recording in a single validated appliance.

Dual 10GbE and PCIe Gen 4 expansion

Two onboard 10GbE RJ-45 ports support link aggregation and failover for sustained throughput. Sequential rates reach 6,300 MB/s read and 3,700 MB/s write under vendor test conditions. Two PCIe Gen 4 x8 slots accept additional network adapters or caching hardware when the integrated interfaces become a bottleneck.

48TB baseline with twelve drive bays

The twelve 3.5-inch SATA bays are populated with 4TB enterprise drives, delivering 48TB before RAID overhead. Cache acceleration comes from two 800GB enterprise SSDs. Capacity scales by replacing drives with larger SATA HDDs or SSDs; the chassis does not accept additional drive enclosures beyond the twelve internal bays.
