The Synology RS826+ is a 1U rackmount NAS built around a 2.2 GHz AMD Ryzen V1500B four-core processor. It ships with 16GB DDR4 ECC memory, 800GB of Synology Enterprise cache on two 400GB modules, and four 16TB Synology Plus drives for 64TB total capacity. Four 1GbE RJ-45 ports and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports provide wired connectivity.

Edge and Remote Office Deployments

This unit suits businesses that need a pre-configured, tested storage appliance for edge locations or branch offices. It is not for buyers who require 10GbE or 25GbE connectivity out of the box, nor for environments that need more than four drive bays without adding an expansion unit. The single PCIe Gen3 slot allows a compatible network card to be added later.

Four-Bay Drive Limit

The chassis provides exactly four 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA bays, so raw capacity is capped at the four included 16TB drives unless larger compatible drives are swapped in. Memory can be expanded to 32GB, and the operating range is 0°C to 35°C with 5 to 95 percent relative humidity.
