Compact 1U Rackmount Storage

The Synology RS826+ is a 1U rackmount NAS built for edge locations, remote offices and growing business storage environments. It arrives fully assembled and tested with 8GB DDR4 ECC memory and four 16TB Synology Plus drives for 64TB of raw capacity. An AMD Ryzen V1500B four-core, eight-thread processor at 2.2 GHz powers the platform. Four drive bays accept 3.5-inch SATA hard drives or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs.

The unit operates from 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz within a temperature range of 0°C to 35°C and 5-95% relative humidity. Four integrated 1GbE RJ-45 ports and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports handle connectivity without adding active cooling components. A single PCIe Gen3 slot is available for a compatible 10GbE or 25GbE adapter if additional bandwidth is required. The compact 44 mm height keeps airflow requirements modest.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Under Synology test conditions the system delivers more than 2,000 MB/s sequential read and 1,300 MB/s sequential write throughput. Link Aggregation across the four 1GbE ports provides network load balancing and automatic failover during prolonged transfers. The AMD Ryzen V1500B maintains consistent multi-threaded performance for file services, backup and virtualization workloads. Memory can be expanded up to 32 GB to support heavier concurrent workloads.
