Taco 185-086C Cast Iron Flange Set

The Taco 185-086C flange set connects 1400 and 2400 series thermostats to 2 NPT piping using cast iron construction. Each package supplies two flanges complete with cap screws and nuts for immediate installation. The assembly is rated for a maximum operating temperature of 230 and a maximum pressure of 125 PSI.

Practical limits of the 2 NPT cast iron interface

The 2 NPT thread size restricts use to matching pipe diameters and the 125 PSI pressure ceiling excludes high-pressure hydronic loops. Cast iron material is unsuitable for potable water lines or systems requiring corrosion-resistant alloys. Buyers needing larger pipe sizes, higher pressure ratings or alternative materials must select a different flange configuration.
