GMRS/FRS handheld for licensed and licence-free use

The Talkpod A36Plus operates on GMRS and FRS frequencies with a 5 W transmit output. It covers VHF and UHF receive ranges including AM airband and broadcast FM. The radio is pre-programmed for amateur bands while keeping transmission locked to HAM frequencies, making it suitable for licensed operators and general users alike.

IP54 water-jet rating

An IP54 rating protects the unit against water jets and dust during outdoor or marine use. The 8 high-gain dual-band antenna is tuned for HAM bands and can be removed for storage or replacement. A Type-C connector provides charging and data access, while the 1.44 inch colour display and 16-button keypad with auto-lock support front-panel programming in the field.

3200 mAh Li-ion battery and accessories included

The extended-capacity 3200 mAh lithium-ion battery delivers 23.68 Wh for long operating sessions. In the box you receive a wrist strap, belt clip, English manual and the removable antenna. Optional TBL12 battery packs are available separately. Voice announce in English or Chinese, 20 call tones, 50 CTCSS and 105 DCS codes, plus an SOS top button complete the feature set.

Questions about this item

What transmit power does the GMRS/FRS interface allow on the Talkpod A36Plus?

The radio transmits at 5 W, 2 W or 0.5 W on both VHF and UHF, matching the FCC Part 95E limit for GMRS handhelds.

Which antenna connector does the Talkpod A36Plus use so I can check mount compatibility?

It comes with a removable 8 high-gain dual-band antenna that screws onto a standard SMA-F connector.

How do I charge the Talkpod A36Plus and what is the common mistake to avoid?

Charge via the USB Type-C port on the 3200 mAh Li-ion pack; the frequent error is using a high-voltage fast charger instead of a plain 5 V source.
