Ultra-wide zoom for Sony E-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras with constant f/2.8 aperture and 0.15 m close focus
The Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8 Di III-A RXD B070 is a constant-aperture ultra wide-angle zoom lens built for Sony E-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras. It covers a 11-20mm focal range with a fixed f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout. The lens uses an RXD stepping motor for quiet, responsive autofocus and includes moisture-resistant construction plus a fluorine coating on the front element.
Photographers who need a bright, portable ultra-wide for interiors, cityscapes or astrophotography will benefit from the constant f/2.8 aperture and close-focusing ability. The 0.15m minimum object distance at 11mm and 0.24m at 20mm also suit creative wide-angle macro work. Shooters requiring longer reach, full-frame coverage or image stabilisation should consider other lenses.
The defining specification is the fixed f/2.8 maximum aperture maintained through the entire zoom range. This allows consistent exposure and depth-of-field control from the widest 11mm setting to the 20mm long end, which is unusual for an APS-C ultra-wide zoom and directly determines low-light capability and subject separation.

The Tamron B070 lens uses a 60 mm filter thread for circular screw-in filters.
Align the white mount index on the lens barrel with the matching dot on the camera bayonet, then twist clockwise until it clicks; the step people forget is removing both the rear lens cap and the camera body cap before mounting.
Wipe the front glass with a clean microfibre cloth; for stubborn marks use a drop of lens cleaning fluid on the cloth, never directly on the coating, and avoid abrasive tissues that could wear the fluorine layer.
