150-500mm Ultra-Telephoto Zoom

The Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VC VXD is a full-frame ultra-telephoto zoom lens built for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. Its compact design measures 209.6mm in length and 93mm in diameter, allowing comfortable handheld shooting at extreme focal lengths. The lens suits wildlife and sports photographers who need reach without the bulk of traditional super-telephoto optics.

25 Elements in 16 Groups

Optical construction uses 25 elements in 16 groups, including special and hybrid aspherical elements to control chromatic aberrations across the zoom range. At the 150mm wide end, the minimum focus distance is .6m (23.6 in) for close-up detail. The variable aperture of f/5-6.7 limits low-light performance and shallow depth of field at the 500mm long end.

VXD Linear Motor and VC Stabilisation

High-speed VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus delivers quick, precise autofocus for fast-moving subjects. Built-in VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilisation assists handheld shooting at 500mm where camera shake is magnified. Moisture-resistant construction and fluorine coating on the front element protect against dust and splashes during outdoor use.
