Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 Di III VXD Kit

This kit pairs a versatile ultra-telephoto zoom for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless bodies with a padded backpack, 82mm filter set, cleaning kit and caps. The lens covers 150-500mm and reaches a 225-750mm equivalent field of view on APS-C cameras. Optical construction uses 25 elements in 16 groups including XLD, LD and GM glass to control aberrations.

Who This Suits and Who Should Look Elsewhere

Wildlife, sports and bird photographers needing long reach in a compact package will appreciate the VXD linear motor for fast, quiet focus and the three-mode VC stabilization for handheld 500mm shooting. Buyers who need a wider maximum aperture for low-light action or a shorter minimum focus distance across the range should consider other options.

150-500mm Focal Range with 82mm Filter Thread

The 150-500mm zoom range combined with an 82mm front thread determines filter compatibility and the reach you get on both full-frame and APS-C Sony E-mount bodies. Minimum focus is 23.6 inches at the wide end, enabling close-up detail alongside distant subjects.

Questions about this item

What filter thread size does the Tamron 150-500mm lens need for the included 3-piece filter set?

The kit includes an 82mm 3-piece filter set, so the lens uses an 82mm filter thread.

How do you attach the included Arca-type tripod foot to the lens for stable mounting?

The Arca-type tripod foot mounts to the lens collar; ensure the locking knob is fully tightened so the foot cannot rotate under the weight of the 500mm zoom.

What should be checked periodically on the VXD linear motor focus system to maintain smooth operation?

Keep the focus ring and barrel free of dust and grit; clean the exterior with the included 6Ave cleaning kit and avoid forcing the ring when the camera is powered off.
