Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 zoom for Sony E APS-C

This versatile zoom lens covers a 25.5-105mm equivalent focal length range on Sony E-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras. It maintains a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout the zoom range. The bundle includes a 64GB Extreme Pro SD card, 67mm filter set, 6-inch lens case, memory card wallet, SD card reader, strap and cleaning kit. It suits photographers and videographers who want wide-angle to short-telephoto coverage in one lens.

RXD autofocus with VC stabilisation

The RXD stepping motor provides quick, quiet and smooth autofocus for both stills and video. Full-time manual focus override is available. Vibration Compensation helps steady handheld shots. The minimum focusing distance is 7.5 inches with 1:4.8 maximum magnification for close-up work. BBAR coating reduces flare and ghosting in strong light. This lens is not for users needing full-frame coverage or longer telephoto reach.

Questions about this item

How do I mount this 17-70mm f/2.8 lens on my Sony APS-C mirrorless body and what step is often missed?

Align the white mount index on the lens barrel with the matching dot on the camera’s E-mount flange, twist clockwise until it clicks, then remove the rear cap before shooting; many forget to set the focus-mode switch to AF so the RXD motor can drive focus.

What will need replacement or maintenance on this 17-70mm f/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD kit over time?

The front 67mm filter threads should be kept clean with the supplied cleaning kit; the 64GB Extreme Pro SD card will eventually wear out after heavy write cycles, and the lens hood or caps may need replacing if lost or damaged.
