Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD Sony E-Mount camera lens

Compact f/2.8 zoom for Sony E-Mount

The Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD is a fast standard zoom built for Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras. It covers wide-angle to short-telephoto focal lengths while maintaining a constant f/2.8 aperture. The lens weighs 19.4 oz and measures 4.6 in long, making it a lightweight option for daily carry. Its moisture-resistant construction and fluorine coating add durability for outdoor shooting.

Build integration and handling

The lens mounts directly to any Sony E-Mount body without an adapter, freeing bag space that a bulkier zoom would occupy. Its 73 mm maximum diameter accepts standard filters, and the RXD stepping motor drives autofocus silently for both stills and video. Close-focusing capability reaches 7.5 in at 28 mm and 15.3 in at 75 mm, allowing detailed near-subject work without extra accessories. The compact form factor keeps the camera balance neutral on smaller grips.

Included accessories and coatings

A fluorine coating on the front element repels water, oil and dust, reducing cleaning time in the field. BBAR coating on all lens surfaces suppresses ghosting and flare for cleaner contrast. The package supplies front and rear caps plus a petal-type hood that blocks stray light and protects the glass. These items let you start shooting immediately without buying separate protection or filtration basics.
