Versatile 8x zoom range

The compact 7.2-inch length keeps the kit light for travel and long shooting days. Close focus at 9.8 inches delivers 0.5x magnification for macro-style detail.

Sustained handling and stability

Vibration Compensation reduces camera shake during extended handheld sessions at long focal lengths. The VXD linear motor maintains quick, quiet autofocus without hunting when tracking moving subjects over time. Moisture-resistant construction and fluorine coating protect the optics during prolonged outdoor use. USB-C firmware updates keep performance current as camera bodies evolve.

Compatibility checks before ordering

Verify your camera uses the Nikon Z-mount before purchasing this lens. Ensure you have a USB-C cable and access to Tamron Lens Utility for firmware updates and customisation. Buyers who need a constant aperture throughout the zoom range should consider other options. The variable f/4.5-6.3 aperture affects exposure settings at the long end.
