Versatile Telephoto Zoom for Sony E-Mount

The Tamron 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD is a full-frame compatible lens built for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. It covers a flexible short- to long-telephoto range suitable for sports, wildlife and portrait work. The bundle adds a 67mm UV filter, tulip hood, blower, cleaning pen, cloth and starter kit for immediate use.

Sustained Operation and Optical Behaviour

The RXD stepping motor delivers quiet, precise autofocus that works continuously with Sony's Fast Hybrid AF and Eye AF during extended shooting sessions. Low dispersion and BBAR coatings suppress flare and aberration across the zoom range. Moisture-resistant construction helps maintain reliability in humid or damp outdoor conditions over long periods.

Installation Practicalities and Common Issues

The lens mounts directly to any Sony E-mount body without an adapter and weighs 1.2 pounds for comfortable handheld balance at 5.8 inches length. The 67mm filter thread matches the included accessories exactly. Buyers needing wider angles than 70mm or faster constant apertures for low-light indoor work should consider alternative lenses.

Questions about this item

How much noise does the RXD stepping motor make during long video takes?

The RXD stepping motor runs quietly, making it suitable for video recording where focus noise would be picked up by the camera microphone.

Which Sony camera body is required to use this E-mount lens?

The lens fits any Sony E-mount mirrorless body, covering both full-frame and APS-C formats without an adapter.

Will the 67 mm filter thread accept the circular polariser I already own?

Yes, the 67 mm front thread matches the included UV filter, so your existing 67 mm polariser will screw on directly.
