Dual-Fan Cooling for 17-Inch Laptops

The Targus AWE81US is a laptop cooling pad built for notebooks up to 17 inches. It combines two high-speed fans with a 4-port USB hub so users can connect peripherals while keeping temperatures down. The unit draws power directly from the laptop via a USB-A cable, removing the need for an external adapter. Office workers and mobile professionals gain a tidy, single-cable desk setup.

Sustained Airflow Through Dual Fans

Two fans run continuously while the USB connection remains active, moving air across the laptop base during long work or gaming sessions. Because power comes from the host device, fan speed stays consistent as long as the laptop port supplies current. The open mesh surface lets heat escape without trapping it against the chassis. No external power brick means one less cable to manage during extended use.

Replaces Basic Pads Without Connectivity

This model upgrades from simple passive stands or single-fan coolers that lack peripheral ports. The integrated 4-port hub eliminates the need for a separate USB expander when connecting a mouse, keyboard, drive or headset. Buyers who need more than four ports or a powered hub for high-draw devices will need an additional solution. The jump is worth it when desk space and USB ports are both at a premium.

Questions about this item

How much noise and heat do the two fans add when the pad runs all day?

The dual high-speed fans draw power from the laptop USB-A port and run continuously; no decibel or thermal output figures are published.

What must I already own for the cooling pad and its four-port hub to function?

A laptop with a free USB-A port is required; the pad uses that single connection to power both fans and the hub.

Will a 17-inch laptop sit securely on the 39.497 cm deep surface alongside an external keyboard?

The pad supports laptops up to 17 inches and offers four height settings, so it can be raised for use with a separate keyboard.
