Convertible 21L Daypack for 15-16 Inch Laptops

The Targus TBB609GL is a convertible backpack and tote designed to carry laptops with 15 to 16 inch screens. It offers a 21 litre main capacity that expands by 33 percent when extra space is needed. The dedicated laptop compartment measures 15.20 by 10.25 by 0.80 inches for a secure fit. This bag suits commuters and travellers who want one bag that switches between carrying styles.

Water-Resistant Materials and Carry Comfort

The exterior uses water-resistant fabric to help protect contents from light rain and splashes. Contoured shoulder straps distribute the 2.42 pound weight across the shoulders during backpack use. Hideaway straps tuck away cleanly when the bag is carried as a tote by its top handles. No active cooling or power systems are present, so thermal and noise considerations do not apply.

Expandable Storage and Security Features

The main compartment expands to provide 33 percent more volume for clothing or gear on longer trips. A separate exterior footwear compartment keeps shoes or wet items isolated from electronics. The top-loading opening uses a lockable zipper head combined with magnetic closures for quick access and added security. These features adapt the bag to daily work and overnight travel without extra accessories.

Questions about this item

How do I switch the TBB609GL from backpack to tote mode without damaging the straps?

Pull the contoured shoulder straps through the rear panel slots and tuck them into the hidden pocket until they click; the bag then carries by the top handles only.

Which part of the TBB609GL is most likely to wear out first with daily commuting?

The lockable zipper head on the top-loading opening sees the most cycles; keep the teeth clean and lubricated to extend its life.

At what load does the expandable main compartment of the TBB609GL stop adding usable space?

The main compartment expands for 33% more capacity, but the 15.20" x 10.25" x 0.80" laptop sleeve dimensions stay fixed, limiting bulky gear.
