Autel G-BOX3 accessory tool

The Autel G-BOX3 is a 2024 car-electronics accessory that upgrades the earlier GBOX2. It adds engine ECU reading and writing for Bosch MD1 and MG1 units found in VAG, BMW, PSA and Opel vehicles. The tool also programmes keys for Mercedes DAS3 CAN EIS and EXS in all-keys-lost situations. Professional locksmiths and automotive technicians use it with compatible Autel IM-series scanners.

Sustained-load behaviour

During extended ECU reading and writing sessions the G-BOX3 maintains stable communication with the target modules. The upgraded hardware reads BMW systems eight times faster than the previous version, reducing the time each operation occupies the bus. Functions are not universal across every vehicle, so verification with the supplier is advised before relying on the tool for a specific job.

Thermals, noise and power

The accessory draws power directly from the connected Autel scanner and has no internal fan or moving parts. In normal workshop use it runs silently and stays cool to the touch. No external power supply or additional cooling is required.
