2019-2021 Tesla OBD2 Harness Adapter

This custom harness adds a standard OBD2 output to 2019-2021 Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. It plugs into the factory wiring to expose CANBUS data that the dashboard does not show. The adapter is designed for owners who want deeper vehicle diagnostics. It does not fit earlier Model 3 cars or the 2022 model year due to connector changes.

Sustained Diagnostics Access

The harness maintains a continuous CANBUS link while the vehicle is awake, allowing live monitoring of battery pack temperature, motor temperature and individual cell voltages. Data flows through the OBD2 port to a connected scanner without time limits imposed by the adapter itself. Sessions remain stable during extended logging or troubleshooting. The vehicle must stay powered on to keep the bus active.

Direct Plug Installation

Installation requires locating the factory diagnostic connector behind the centre console trim and plugging the harness in-line. No splicing, soldering or software configuration is needed on the harness. The main failure point is purchasing the wrong version for the model year; earlier Model 3 and 2022 Model Y connectors are physically incompatible. No OBD2 scanner or app licence is included in the package.
