Coupling Insert Size 10 EPDM
The Tb Wood'S 10JE Sure-Flex sleeve coupling insert is a one-piece solid component made from EPDM rubber. It suits power transmission systems in blowers, compressors, conveyors, mixers, motors and pumps. The insert handles a maximum speed of 3,600 RPM and a maximum torque of 3,735 in-lb. It operates within a maximum temperature of 275 Degrees F.
Replaces Worn EPDM Inserts
This insert directly replaces a worn or damaged 10JE sleeve in existing Sure-Flex couplings. The jump is worth it when the current element shows cracking, hardening or excessive vibration from angular misalignment beyond 1 degree or parallel offset past 0.025 in. A new insert restores the rated torsional stiffness of 10,980 in-lb/rad and the 5.9 hp capacity at 100 RPM.
Sustained Load Behaviour
Under continuous operation the EPDM material maintains its damping properties up to the 275 Degrees F limit. The one-piece solid construction resists deformation at the rated 3,735 in-lb torque without the heat buildup that degrades multi-piece designs. Angular misalignment capacity stays at 1 degree and parallel misalignment at 0.025 in throughout the service interval.

Questions about this item
What outside diameter must the coupling housing accept for this size 10 insert?
The insert has an outside diameter of 7 1/16 inches, so the housing bore must match that dimension.
Which alignment step is most often missed when fitting the 10JE insert?
Installers frequently forget to verify both angular misalignment within 1 degree and parallel offset within 0.025 inch before tightening the hubs.
How often should the EPDM rubber insert be inspected or replaced in a pump running at 3,600 RPM?
Plan inspection at least annually; replace the insert if you see cracking, hardening, or loss of torsional stiffness at the 10,980 in-lb/rad rating.
