What you get

The Team Group C212 is a 512GB USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A flash drive rated for sequential reads up to 1000MB/s and writes up to 800MB/s. It targets users who move large multimedia files between computers, laptops and consoles such as PS4 and PS5.

Installation and common issues

Plug the Type A connector into any USB port; the push-and-pull slider extends and retracts the plug without a separate cap. The main friction point is that peak speeds require a host port that also supports USB 3.2 Gen 2, otherwise transfer rates fall back to the port's lower specification.

Who should buy and who should not

Suitable for creators and gamers who need portable, high-capacity storage for 4K video or game libraries and have Gen 2 ports available. Not a fit for buyers who require hardware encryption, ruggedised housing or a Type C connector for direct connection to modern phones and tablets.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the drive is delivering the advertised 1000MB/s read and 800MB/s write speeds after plugging it in?

Run a benchmark tool such as CrystalDiskMark or AS SSD on a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port; sequential results should approach 1000MB/s read and 800MB/s write for the 512GB model.

What ships inside the package and are any cables or adapters required?

The box contains only the C212 512GB flash drive with its integrated Type A connector; no extra cables or adapters are needed.

Should I choose the 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB version for storing roughly 20 hours of 4K UHD video?

The 1TB capacity is quoted for approximately 20 hours of 4K UHD footage; the 512GB model holds about half that amount.
