This adapter cable connects a front-panel USB 3.0 19 or 20-pin male header to a motherboard USB 2.0 9 or 10-pin female header. It is intended for builders who need to use newer front-panel ports on boards that only provide the older internal connector.

Speed limited to USB 2.0 rates

The link operates at 480 Mbps, so any USB 3.0 device plugged into the front panel will run at USB 2.0 throughput. This provides enough bandwidth for keyboards, mice, optical drives or floppy-drive panels, but it cannot deliver the higher speeds a native USB 3.0 header would supply.

No USB 3.0 header required
